Ducts.orgIn my day job, I’m a computer freelancer. Seldom does my writing world and my technical world collide outside of my own endeavors. However, a few months ago I was asked by a friend of a friend if I could redesign a website. Essentially, they wanted readers to be able to comment on all the articles. I recommended WordPress and got hacking.

I coded a “magazine plugin” for WordPress, as none existed with the capabilities I wanted, and I rebuilt their site so that now the community can participate by commenting on any article. The site is called Ducts.org, and it’s a creation of Greenpoint Press and New York Writers’ Workshop. They’ve got fiction, essays, humor, artwork, and even music. Though it was a lot of work, I had a hell of a lot of fun coding their site because this stuff just interests me. (But, shhh! Don’t tell them that.)
