The Good, The Bad, The Fire Escape Scrapers August 13, 2007 – Posted in: Aberrant Normalcy, Sybil's Garage

No mas, amigo! In the midst of working at my desk this morning I heard something rasping away outside my rear window. I peered out to find a bearded gentleman scraping away at my fire escape. My landlord had recently informed me that they would be cleaning the fire escape in preparation for painting. Never mind that the interior of the building hasn’t seen a fresh coat of paint since Nixon sat in the Oval Office; somehow the rear of the building, mostly hidden between a tree and a church, needs sprucing up.

So I had to cut away the tendriling morning glories from the fire escape and bring my sage, oregano, basil, coleus, aloe vera, plumeria — you get the idea — inside. No more morning blooms the size of apples and the color of a tropical sunset. The rusty ol’ fire escape needs a paintin’, and we gots to a do it.

I tell myself, they’ll grow back.

Anyway, to take my mind off this pointless vegetative murder, I thought I give an update on the Sybil’s Garage slush queue:
