Please Sign the Cooley’s Anemia Petition September 21, 2005 – Posted in: Aberrant Normalcy

Hey all, one last minute update to today’s blog entry. A friend of mine has thalassemia, also known as Cooley’s Anemia, which is a type of blood disorder. Along with monthly blood transfusions, he needs to inject a drug called Desferal into his bloodstream for eight hours every night to reduce his iron count. Well, now there is a new drug awaiting approval by the FDA which will have the same effect as the iron-reducing Desferal, but he will only be required to swallow a daily pill. No more eight hour nightly injections. Please show your support for him and the thousands of Cooley’s Anemia patients by signing the petition below. It will profoundly improve all their lives if this drug passes the FDA approval process. Thank you!
