Sometimes, slush is good! Sybil’s Garage No. 5 (?!)
Submission Guidelines
Please make sure to read all the guidelines before submitting.

We are closed to submissions as of November 5th, 2007 for issue 5.

More information can be found on our blog.

We're closed to submissions as of November 5th.

Sybil's Garage accepts all works of speculative fiction (science fiction, fantasy, horror, slipstream, etc.), but we have a tendency to prefer the strange. Interpret that as you will, or seek out our previous issues to see what we mean. But we're a friendly bunch; if you're not sure, please send it our way anyway.

We encourage stories from diverse perspectives, settings, and origins.

Your stories should be no greater than 5000 words.
For Poetry: please use the email address specified below.
We prefer original work to reprints.
We will also look at non-fiction, and book and film reviews.

Do not submit more than one item to us for consideration at a time. We are strict about this.

Please do not submit your story to another publication while we are considering it.

In other words:
No simultaneous submissions.
No multiple submissions.

Important Note: We have an online submission form for fiction. Email for fiction will not be accepted.

How to get people to notice you.

Your stories should be no longer than 5000 words. We aren't strict as to word count, but the further you are above that number, the less chance you have of being published with us. Your document should be formatted with Standard Manuscript Formatting. We prefer the Courier font. Only Microsoft Word Documents or RTF (Rich-Text Files) are acceptable.

We're closed to submissions as of November 5th.

For fiction submissions, please use our online submission form.

For poetry only please email submissions to:
Also, please put "POETRY SUB" in the subject line. Poems in the body of the message are OK.
