Some may remember my story about my grandfather a few weeks back.  In summary: I said to my father.  “I never knew my grandfather.”  He had died a few years before I was born. And my father said, “You can meet him!” Contrary to my first impression, he had not summoned his ghost or lost his mind.  Among the many boxes in the shed of my grandparents’ things, there supposedly hid a novel my grandfather had written.  But after a day of searching through mouse-eaten boxes, we never found it.  Well, good news …

Replicants on the Radio

Tonight at 1:30 a.m. I’ll be on Jim Freund’s “Hour of the Wolf” (new time!) to discuss Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. We’ll be joined by playwright Edward Einhorn, whose play of the same title is currently at the Untitled Theater No. 61 near Battery Park in Manhattan.  I’ll be there as resident Blade Runner expert to compare and contrast the film with the novel, as well as talk about Edward’s adaptation of the work.  Should be an interesting night.  Should you be up that hour, …
