I saw Coraline last night and enjoyed it.  The 3D was spectacular, not the kind of cheap gimmicky thing I was expecting.  I was a little disappointed in the plot of the film itself.  Without giving away spoilers (ok nevermind, spoilers ahead), I felt some characters and plot points were underdeveloped.  Perhaps this is because I didn’t read the book (gasp! for shame!) and missed a lot of the backstory that they couldn’t cram into the film.  But, who was Beldam?  I never found out why she was motivated to …
