Hacker?

20 March 2008 2 Comments Posted by Matthew Kressel

So someone hacked into one of my work servers today and started sending this email to all the employees:

From: potemkin@ethereal_seas.net
Subject: there is but one will, though the paths are many

I realize that, in this age of automated spam agents and artificial
scripting that it is difficult to discern human intent–and human
need–behind an anonymous email, but I reach out to you in a desperate hope that you will consider the possibility that I exist.

My Mosaic still lives. TH3y cannot stop it. Not as long as we believe.

Then we started getting dozens of anonymous phone calls asking if some guy named Harry worked for us. When we asked who they were they invariably hung up. Crazy day.

Sounds like a great opening for a short story, Matt. In fact, I think I may have written this short story once.

It sounds suspiciously like a short story… ;)
